Revaluation: What's the hold up?
As I have been looking to move out of this city, I have noticed without exception that every other municipality in NJ has up to date re-valuations and assessments of all of their properties, thereby spreading the tax burden equally to all citizens of their town.
What is the hold up in this city? Why isn't this a priority for the current administration? It seems that NO ONE can give me a straight answer as to why this is not a regular and recurring thing occurring in this…

Escrow statement for 2010 shows City Tax increase
I'm writing to see if anyone else has received their annual escrow recalculation from their mortgage company. Mine says a city tax increase of $2,000 from 17K to 19K. Thats close to a 12% increase. Has anyone else received similar increases. When I contacted the tax collector they said," We'll we have to wait until the city receives the state, county and school budgets for 2010, which won't be until August.
