NYC is selling boats, ferries, and plenty of other assets to help make money. Why can't Hoboken do the same?
I see Hoboken police have boats, kept at a lot near Observer and Willow. That makes absolutely no sense to me. When was the last time the police had a Miami Vice style boat chase?
The next item I suggest they sell is the entire fleet of police cars that are held in the public parking garage on 2nd b/t River and Hudson. Why in a city a mile square do they need so many cars? I've seen the Hoboken police and it wouldn't do any of them harm, to be on foot. If it's cold, stop into a store and warm up.
If they still have the horses, those must be sold. They are no quicker than a cop on foot, we will never need them for riot control, and since Hoboken is a city grid, they won't save more time then a car.
Sell assets, cut taxes.
