Permalink Reply by SmartyJones on September 17, 2009 at 12:33pm This is making him look more stupid than he even is. I think that in all "fairness" to the people of Hoboken, the petitions of Mason and Zimmer should be excepted, just like in all "fairness" the box of absentee ballots found two days after the election were counted. After all, aren't elections in Hoboken about being fair?

Permalink Reply by SmartyJones on September 17, 2009 at 2:11pm It may seem on the surface trivial, but it would meet the legal requirement to be heard. Just updated, calling it "The Pupie Maneuver."

Permalink Reply by BJ on September 17, 2009 at 5:23pm I’m not going to start another thread on this subject. If I did the thread would be “Mason and Zimmer failed the petition deadline” and not so much as to who is challenging them for failing to be there with sufficient time ahead of the 4:PM deadline.
Here we are talking about two elected officials that have the experience and knowledge and the personnel and resources to make sure that their petitions are in place with sufficient time before the deadline. We are not talking about an unknown Joe (Jane) Blow that is new to the system.
BTW, it doesn’t matter who files the complaint with the County Board of Elections; it could have been any of the candidates or any of us. The point is that if we allow this to take place in one of the most notoriously known corrupt counties then we are as bad and as corrupt as the system we’ve created.
This is going to be interesting.
Permalink Reply by SmartyJones on September 17, 2009 at 5:28pm Seriously? Accepting their petitions is synonymous with the corruption that happens in Hudson County? Thats what you think?
I am speachless as to how to respond to such nonsense. Yes, anyone could have potentially raised this red herring bureaucratic nonsense, but Pupie a candidate is the one that did. And call a spade a spade, it is Pupies attempt to eliminate competition through bs challenges that is emblematic of Hudson County politics.
By the way, Dawn's were submitted and stamped ahead of the deadline. If the clerk processing the petitions takes a half hour to process, notorize, and stamp it how is that considered corruption on Dawn's part? Don't bother trying to answer that because its a rhetorical question.

Permalink Reply by Sven on September 17, 2009 at 9:48pm I have one more thing to say about this. IMO we would not miss much if Mason and Zimmer are disqualified from the special election. We’ve already seen them perform and know pretty much where they stand. I wouldn’t mind giving somebody new the opportunity except of course Pupie and Patricia because it’s also well known where they stand.
Permalink Reply by SmartyJones on September 18, 2009 at 12:09am That's correct. Zimmer's petition had the accurate signatures and a receipt was processed within the deadline. A clerk requested additional signatures that other candidates did not submit similarly and has turned out to be completely unnecessary by statute.
