Hoboken Revolt

The Hoboken Tax Reform Coalition

The Jersey City council is voting on a new contact for the Public Employees Union today.
Highlights include:
- "The contract would run from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2011 and calls for a $1,000 flat raise for all members each year."
- Switching the health plan to an HMO saving "$350,000 to $400,000 annually -- union members will get two $1,000 one-time payments this year." (~1.3 million in one time payments)

So is JC getting a deal? Is this how Hoboken's new contracts should look?
