Hoboken Revolt

The Hoboken Tax Reform Coalition

“I don’t think they were elected to reduce taxes.”  - Councilman Michael Lenz, 01/30/10, referring to Mayor Dawn Zimmer and her council allies.

Lenz dismissed campaign talk of significantly lower taxes as unrealistic.  Instead of cutting taxes, the councilman argued that we should focus on spending tax dollars more "carefully."

Well even though you've said you don't consider yourself a member here, you're welcome.

Here's something I'm sure you'll enjoy too:

wow you're sooo clever - what a snappy response!

That's what you said. You called all these millions of Americans, many who didn't ever attend a public protest in their life teabaggers. Your just one step away from calling people here the same.

In case you haven't noticed this is Hoboken Revolt, not the Communist Daily Worker.

Jack Dawkins said:
hmm, specifically ask for someone to point out something specific and instead they puke out some unrelated hogwash.

SmartyJones said:
Dumber than calling people teabaggers? Nope, not even close. Too much Olberfurherer in the diet. Bad for the crankiness.

Yes, Jack all those little old ladies out there at protests for the first time in their lives are evil.
Stop them, Nancy Pelosi is counting on you.

The above is such a dumb comment, it's not even worth responding to; however, I'd suggest that everyone look at my original posted and fill me in on where the word "evil" as used as an adjective in connection with elderly women..

It is funny to see the man who ran dawn zimmer's campaign behind the scene run away from a campaign promise that was published everywhere. Lenz does not care about this temporary seat on the city council, as this is a stepping stone for his new upcoming role as BA. Lenz in control again.....ugh!

It is interesting that the man I recall running Raia's campaign is reviving an untrue rumor about Lenz regarding the Zimmer campaign. Lenz is not "in charge again." He is one Coucilperson, who IMHO is demonstrating he does care about his "temporary seat."

One thing has nothing to do with the other. I am not currently running a campaign and as a Hoboken resident I can voice my opinion. He is one coucilperson that has a lot of control, very quickly. November will show a partial plan on what's to come. These are not rumors and I believe you know better.

They do relate to one another, David.

You, as a citizen, ever-entitled to your opinion, also chose to take on a visible & vocal role in the political arena.
I'd suggest you're being naive (I might even suggest disingenuous, but I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt), if you believe you simply return to pure "resident-only" opinion status after the role you chose.

And would further suggest, "I believe you know better."

Again, I'd respectfully suggest your assumption about Zimmer's campaign is wrong. As well, just how much power you're allotting Councilman Lenz.

Perhaps we'd best agree to disagree.

I don't plan to engage with you further on this.

Kathy, your one of the reasons why I rarely post on this blog, because the moment you speak up...a person gets killed and abused for their opinions. That is exactly what this is, my opinion. From what I know, have heard and have seen, you would need to be completely blind to not see how much power Lenz has and how much clout he has in city hall.

What do you think Lenz is a rookie? An innocent Hobokenite that is just trying to do good for the community? Come on!
This is Roberts old crownie who screwed up, got fired, then sued the city for what $200k! He has been behind Zimmer from the start! Now watch the Lenz shit show as he wiggles into the BA spot, barely runs for his seat and makes room for Jake.

I suggest you don't go back and forth with me as it is useless. You are either nieve or your blinded with trust and loyalty to your green shirt! either way, watch what happens with Lenz over this year and you can apoligize later.
