If this site endorses Tony S for mayor, why is he not on the ballet?

If this site endorses Tony S for mayor, why is he not on the ballet? He's asking for his name to be written in? Wow, I'm confused about this group/blog if the foregoing is true......

Please advise.

That was a desperate hoax put out by a rival campaign.

http://thehobokenjournal.blogspot.com/2009/10/midnight-flier-madnes...

And the word is ballot not ballet.
The flyer was a goof...a bit of political misdirection most likely coming from old-school operatives in the Third or Fourth Wards. It was presented as straight news on 411, so you get a pass for taking it seriously.
Stiemyg, If you saw me in person you would know why I'm not on the "Ballet"

As for the Ballot the other posters are 100% correct, I saw the flyers on Friday Morning on wind sheilds blowing around my neighborhood and stacked in my building's entry. (if I did it I could have easily gotten them inside)

I believe it was done by a rival campaign of Zimmer's but after witnessing the sleazy tactics from another Mayoral candidate, I would not automatically assume it was generated out of Wards 3 or 4.

For the record the flyer is incorrect. I was elected twice. The 1st time was 10 years ago Tuesday when I ran against Ed Stinson for Council at Large. He was backed by Anthony Russo and spent over $150,000 I was backed by reformers like Ines Garcia Keim, Carol Marsh, Augsta Pryzgoda, Eric Kurta, Mike Lenz and elected officials Dave Roberts and Ruben Ramos who were Councilmembers at the time.

I spent 18,000 and beat him by 290 votes

I did lose when I took on Campos in the 4th ward (so he wouldn't run unopposed and lost to Cammarano in 2005 in a campaign where The winners spent 1.3 million and Marsh Team spent $270,000
So let me understand this: 'The winners spent 1.3 million' - so someone who wants to be a councilman spends so much money because the job they want so badly pays excellent, right? What is the salary for a councilman- 24,000 or 25,000?
No wonder our taxes are insane!
I hope that honest people who read these blogs understand that the only way to make this one right is to vote for ZImmer. The young fellow -Brinkman - may be an ok candidate, but he needs to became a councilman or demonstrate that he did something significant for this community before running for Mayor. He only draws votes away from Zimmer - I would imagine. The rest is a cesspool, they all need to go away. They are opportunistic pathological liars.
Georgia,

When I was Councilman My Salary was 16,000 after about 6 years it was $21,000.
I will say they should be paid since you should send out newsletters have a separate phone, drive regularly to Trenton, also many times I had to take a taxi back to the city after council meetings to do my full time job.

Often you are asked to help people with Rent Money, food and money for diapers.

Last Spring Mason spent over 400,000 to place a Distant THIRD. I heard this morning she has spent over $350,000 in this race.
While these seem to be mostly personal funds, I think that it was highly offensive that after her loss in the Spring she spitefully asked for her salary retroactively after campaigning on a platform of "I don't take a salary"

Her latest BS is that she wants the Council to stop taking a paycheck until the budget is passed, but she had no problem in May asking for a Salary again and a RETROACTIVE payback.

I believe many raise the money to win so they can serve, others for power and all too often to steal.

It scares me when I see a candidate waste so much money and spend it so poorly as Mason has, it tell me that if this is how wasteful she is with her cash, how will she be with ours?
That I did not know, that Beth went so low and asked for retroactive pay! That should be illegal!!! Firstly, she wastes her money by running a shameful campaign, secondly she looses quite badly, and thirdly she wants us to pay to her f-up? I was so right from the beginning to think she is so wrong for this town. At least we got Cammarano off our backs in less than a month (so to speak). It's better to get a crook elected and hope that somehow the feds get to him than get Mason running for any public position. The idea that she has money so she won't be corrupted by bribes does not work in her case. We need to get her out of the City Hall all together.
Sorry, but I don't know who Everton Wilson is. I did not mean to include him in my previous comment.

Beth Mason: I'll take that Council salary after all, thank you
By Carly Baldwin

We heard this news "tip" and called Beth Mason several times this week to confirm, but the 2nd Ward Councilwoman never got back to us. So, the Hoboken Reporter beat us to the punch.
Yes, after remindinding everyone often that she doesn't take her City Council salary, Beth Mason is now asking the City to give her her Council salary going back to January and to give her health benefits moving forward.

A spokesman for the city told us that Mason has received her backpay of $8,816 since January, and will get the roughly $22,000 per year and health benefits going forward.
Mason confirmed it was true to the Reporter, saying she finally listened to all the supporters who told her she earned her salary and should take it.
