If the City needs money, why don't they fine property owners that don't shovel their sidewalks??? It's crazy....

I assume they don't because (from what I can tell) it's mostly the
original locals that don't shovel - not the yuppies. Not only is it
loss of revenue, it's dangerous!

I agree! I just complained to the city about the Grand Adams apartment on Third Street.
In the last two years I've seen they are egregiously bad with their snow shovelling.
They let snow pile up high while everyone else has cleared theirs off long ago.
not to mention other negligences.
I have just e-mailed the new Director of Environment Services, Ms. Jennifer Maier. regarding this very problem.
Everyone should e-mail her at jmaier@hobokennj.org or call at 201 420-2049. Hopefully the new Director will understand the severity of the issue.
