The Hoboken Tax Reform Coalition
|
On Tuesday April 20, 2010 the voters of Hoboken will have the opportunity to cast ballots regarding two important matters. First, elections will be held to seat individuals on the Board of Education (BOE) and second, the BOE budget for 2010/2011 is on the ballot for approval or rejection.
Hoboken Revolt (HR) is a community-based advocacy organization that is dedicated to a
mission that includes ensuring fiscal responsibility, accountability, reducing waste and eliminating mismanagement in Hoboken government. While the BOE conducted a great deal of due diligence in 2009/2010, the steering committee of HR is disappointed that more cost savings were not identified before introduction of the current budget.font-family:Arial;color:black"">
The steering committee of HR believes additional work must be done to identify other opportunities for cost savings. HR urges the current BOE budget be rejected and asks the BOE and superintendant to identify additional opportunities for cost savings while they continue to focus on the delivery of quality education to all students in the district.
The steering committee of HR encourages all voters to review the material available on the HR website, look at all other information available to voters
and cast votes for the candidates of their choice.
Polls are open tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20th from 2p-9p.
Voting locations can be found here:
