People support the budget because they have no clue or understanding about the process whatsoever. The political lie line thrown into their face: ' oh, you take money away from the poor students' makes it to the moms' heads. That is another valid reason why parents should not be on the BoE: most of them do not have the capability to understand complicated issues. What's worse, they don't care to make an effort to comprehend either.
